The Schnitger / Freijtag organ Noordbroek -
Peter Westerbrink
Jakob Praetorius: Praeambulum F dur; Vater unser im Himmelreich - 7 verzen; Heinrich Scheidemann(?): Canzon G dur; Dietrich Buxtehude: Te Deum Laudamus (BuxWV 218) - Praeludium - Te Deum Laudamus - Pleni sunt coeli et terra - Te Martyrum candidatus - Tu devicto mortis; Johann Sebastian Bach: Sei gegrüßet, Jesu gütig (BWV 768), chorale and 11 variations; Concerto in d minor (after the Concerto in d minor, Opus 3, no.11 (RV 565) by Antonio Vivaldi [Allegro] - Grave + Fuga - Largo e spiccato - [Allegro]; Prelude and Fugue in C major (BWV 545)

In more ways than one this is a remarkable recording, not only because of the completely "restful" wind that the mechanical bellows machine provides, but also because all the registers of the organ are used. The accompanying booklet (32p.) includes "Some thougts on sound and the use of the 300 year old Schnitger organ" by the organ builder Winold van der Putten. (De Orgelvriend)
